The discussions in the IGD noted that the average Motswana is twenty-four years old, but the average decision maker in Botswana is sixty years old.
The IGD identified the key roles and activities that African youth in diaspora can play to promote and advance the STG agenda; as well as the challenges and gaps that hinder the effective participation and contributions of the youth in diaspora to silencing the guns.
The dialogue discussed issues relating to the dynamics and challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, projected progress towards achieving the AU’s Agenda 2063 by 2045, and how the youth can be part of the STG initiative.
