Wolfe Braude

Communications Manager

Prior to joining ACCORD as Communications Manager, Wolfe consulted with the South African Institute of International Affairs (SAIIA) on stakeholder management, content dissemination, new business development, and undertook economic diplomacy research. Wolfe is a Director at Emet Consulting, which he co-founded in 2002. Emet Consulting undertakes research and project management in the areas of trade, industrial, and labour policy as well as regional integration.

Wolfe held the position of International Affairs Manager at the South African Sugar Association (SASA) from 2008-2013, dealing with stakeholders in government, international and regional sugar structures in terms of trade policy, preferential market access, trade distortions, regional policy harmonisation and cooperation. Before joining SASA Wolfe was a Senior Researcher at the Congress of South African Trade Unions’ research affiliate – the National Labour and Economic and Development Institute; and before that the Programme Manager for a South African Department of Trade and Industry Policy Support Programme. This EU funded programme assisted senior management through research, training and technical assistance. Prior to this Wolfe was Associate Lecturer in Political Science at the University of Durban-Westville and co-managed the Department’s Academic Development Programme. He is the author of a number of papers and a book entitled Regional Integration in Africa – Lessons from the East African Community, published by the South African Institute of International Affairs.
