Tunji Namaiko

Programme Officer

Tunji Namaiko is a Programme Officer responsible for the day-to-day coordination and operationalisation of the MoU between International IDEA and the African Union Commission under the Division for Africa and West Asia in Addis Ababa.

Tunji joined International IDEA on 1 October 2020.  He serves as a focal person for the coordination of activities between International IDEA and the AU and coordinates the existing portfolio of programmes.

Tunji has over a decade of experience across Sub-Sahara Africa and the MENA region covering the whole spectrum of conflict and fragility management.  He is an expert in Systemic peacebuilding which includes; Strategic Conflict Analysis (SCA), Conflict Structural Vulnerability Assessments (CSVA), Humanitarian Assessments (HA), Political Analysis, Elections and Democratic Governance. He designs and implements comprehensive prevention initiatives, early warning, social cohesion, dialogue, reconciliation, stabilization and resilience processes. Tunji is also experienced in designing National Infrastructures for Peace (IfPs) with a niche on humanitarian, development and peace (HDP) nexus using Conflict Sensitivity Program Management (CSPM) approaches. He focuses on facilitation of multi-stakeholder and multi-partner conflict-sensitive processes involving a wide range of stakeholders such as state and non-state actors.

Through his work with COMESA, Tunji has widely collaborated with the AU and other RECs. He has also widely worked and consulted for the UN, UNDP, German International Co-operation, Friedrich Ebert Stiftung, Dan Church Aid, Finn Church Aid. His recent work has largely focused on South Sudan and Syria.
