Priyal was a Researcher within ACCORD’s Knowledge Production Department. Priyal provided substantive support to the overall work of the division in terms of institutional reports, research-related support and analysis, as well as ad hoc support for the conceptualisation of intervention initiatives. Priyal first joined ACCORD in April 2012 for a six month internship with the Peacekeeping Unit, in which he focused on a dedicated assessment of the civilian component of modern multidimensional peacekeeping operations, and was later appointed to the Operations Division in October 2012.
Priyal previously worked in the private sector and enjoyed working at ACCORD due to the high quality of the centre’s research and outputs, as well as its commitment to the peaceful and sustained development of the African continent. He holds a Masters degree (M.A.) with distinction from the University of the Witwatersrand in international relations, as well as Honours (B.A. Hons.) and Bachelors (B.A.) degrees majoring in applied economics and international relations. His research interests largely fell within the study of international political economy, strategic studies and applied quantitative research methods for the social sciences.
