Peter Mayavo is lecturer and chair of the department of History & Development Studies at the Midlands State University in Gweru, Zimbabwe. His research interests are in labour, globalisation and the under-privileged in society, including women, children and the elderly. He has published on child labour, the elderly, as well as the effects of globalisation on the majority poor in less developed societies of the world. He is currently pursuing DPhil studies with the University of Zimbabwe on Patriarchy and Labour Relations in Zimbabwe’s Agrarian Sector: The Case of Female and Child Workers on Large-Scale Commercial Farms: 1939-2000.
