Dr Patrick Karanja Mbugua is a Nairobi-based academic. He holds a PhD in Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand, and an MA in Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of Kwazulu Natal in Durban, South Africa. His research interests include the social construction of conflict and violence, peace and processes in Africa, peacebuilding theory and practice, preventive diplomacy, and international humanitarianism.
