Olivia is a Director of Climate Legal specialising in domestic and international climate change policy and law, loss and damage, climate finance, carbon markets and carbon pricing. She has a deep interest in domestic climate change legislation and adaptation law, and has worked widely across the African continent on the design of framework climate laws and related climate policy. She is an Adjunct Senior Lecturer in environmental law at the University of Cape Town (UCT), and a visiting law lecturer at UCT’s African Climate and Development Initiative. Olivia has been recognised as a leading environmental lawyer by Chambers and Partners 2021 and 2022 (Environment, South Africa) and Best Lawyers 2020 – 2022.
