Nkanyiso is a Researcher within ACCORD’s Research Unit. He was previously a Research Intern, and a Programmes Intern within ACCORD’s Preventive Action and Mediation (Peace-making) Unit.
In 2021 he was a Konrad Adenauer Stiftung/Foundation (KAS) scholar and Research Intern at the South African Institute of International Affairs (SAIIA). He worked in the African Governance & Diplomacy Programme, focussing on the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM). He was also a Panellist at Democracy Development Programme (DDP)’s “5th Annual Youth Indaba Conference” in Durban.
Nkanyiso holds a Master’s degree in Political Studies from the University of the Witwatersrand. His thesis assessed the place of independent candidates in South Africa’s multi-party democracy during the local elections. He also holds an Honours degree in Political & International Studies, and an undergraduate degree in Political & International Studies and Law from Rhodes University.
His research interests include African Governance and Democracy, Elections, and Youth.
