Chantal Kanyange joined ACCORD’s Burundi Programme in August 2005 as Programme Assistant with the hope that through her work she would be able to make a contribution to the peacebuilding and reconciliation process in Burundi and in Africa. In August 2006, she was appointed as Junior Program Officer with the PCTAP (Post-Conflict Transition Assistance Program) Project that ACCORD conducted in partnership with DAI (Development Alternatives, Inc.).
In 2011, she was appointed as Program Officer with the Post-Conflict Peacebuilding in Burundi: Promoting Peace, Reconciliation and Effective Governance Programme (here referred to as “the Programme”) funded by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA). In 2013, she was appointed as Project Officer with the Great Lakes Project (GLP) that is implemented with GPPAC (Global Partnership for the Prevention of Armed Conflicts) and NPI-A (Nairobi Peace Initiative – Africa) in Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda and Uganda.
The Project is funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands. She was based in the ACCORD Burundi office in Bujumbura, and focused mainly on conflict prevention and peacebuilding programmes through the Great Lakes Project.
