Workshop on the Drivers of Conflict in the Great Lakes Region

Frederique de Man, the Dutch Ambassador to Rwanda, co-hosts workshop for Embassies of the Netherlands in the Great Lakes Region.

On 14 May 2018, ACCORD attended a workshop on Drivers of Conflict in the Great Lakes Region hosted by the Dutch Ambassador to Rwanda, Frederique de Man, and Interpeace’s Regional Director, Jean Paul Mugiraneza in Kigali, Rwanda.

The workshop brought together the four Embassies of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in the Great Lakes Region who are in the process of updating their conflict analysis on the regional dynamics between Burundi, Rwanda, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda. The workshop was a means to best analyse the context situation present in each of the countries. ACCORD was invited to participate in the discussions, to comment and provide an analysis of the Great Lakes Region. The Workshop was to assist the embassies understanding and approach moving forward in the Great Lakes region over the coming years.

ACCORD was represented by the Acting General Manager: Operations, Mr Kwezi Mngqibisa.
