On 28 November 2017 the Executive Director met with H.E. Ambassador Wolfram Vetter during his visit to South Africa. The request for a meeting came from the Delegation of the European Union to South Africa. The meeting provided an opportunity for the Executive Director to share with H.E. Ambassador Vetter ACCORD’s work in Burundi, as well as to discuss the current political situation within the Great Lakes Region.
In March 2017 the Executive Director was invited to participate in a roundtable lunch discussion hosted by the European Union Representative to South Africa, H.E. Ambassador Marcus Cornaro, on the occasion of the visiting European Union Deputy Managing Director for Africa, Ms Birgitte Markussen. H.E. Ambassador Cornaro then undertook his first visit to ACCORD House in May 2017.
