On the 6th of May, ACCORD’s Executive Director, Dr Vasu Gounden, signed an official memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Secretary General of the Junior Chamber International (JCI), Arrey Obenson, in order to work together to bring the Global Peace Initiative’s Inter-Generational Dialogues (IGDs) to 100 cities around the world.
The day of the signing coincided with the Inaugural IGD in Accra, where the president of Ghana, H.E. Nana Akufo-Addo and ACCORD board of trustees’ chairperson, Mrs. Graca Machel, hosted the event for more then 500 delegates and representatives from different sectors across Ghana and the world.
Mr. Obenson, as JCI’s Secretary General, is the chief administrative officer leading the implementation of the organisation’s overall strategy. The partnership between ACCORD and JCI enable both organisations to share knowledge and resources to enable young people to take action for their future. JCI is a crucial partner whose extensive network of more then 200,000 members and presence in over 100 countries will allow Global Peace to bring the Inter-Generational Dialogues to cities across the world.
