Cedric de Coning, Research Fellow of ACCORD, has been invited to attend the 5th G8++ Africa Clearing House Conference that is taking place in Tokyo, Japan from 23-24 April.
He will deliver a presentation on the work that the Training for Peace (TfP) Programme has been undertaking on behalf of the AU Peace Support Operations Division (PSOD) to develop the Civilian Dimension of the African Standby Force (ASF).
Whilst in Tokyo, Mr. de Coning will also be making presentations at seminars arranged by the Japanese Ground Self-Defence Forces and the Aoyama Gakuin University on topics entitled ‘The future of peacekeeping in Africa’ and ‘Civil-Military Coordination in UN Peacebuilding Systems’.
