On 26 February 2025, Dr Vasu Gounden, the Founder and Executive Director of ACCORD, was invited to present at a virtual meeting of the South African Parliamentary Committee on International Relations and Cooperation. The meeting focused on South Africa’s foreign policy, specifically its advances and challenges. Dr Gounden’s presentation addressed the topic of peace, stability, and security. Other presentations during the meeting covered South Africa’s national interests, non-alignment in the country’s foreign policy, and the growing incidents of post-election tensions, including a case study on Mozambique and its impact on the region and South Africa. Dr Gounden has delivered several presentations to the Parliamentary Committee on International Relations and Cooperation over the years.
