On 6 August 2017 ACCORD together with Video Vision Entertainment hosted the movie preview of Detroit at Gateway Mall which was held Durban. The movie was set in the summer of 1967, where rioting and civil unrest started to tear apart the city of Detroit. ACCORD’s Founder and Executive Director, Dr Vasu Gounden, was invited to open the preview of the movie by saying a few words on ACCORD and its achievements as an Institution of 25 years in the field of conflict resolution and mediation on the continent. This was the first of two previews of Detroit ACCORD partnered with Video Vision Entertainment, the second is to take place in Johannesburg later this month.
