ACCORD’s Training for Peace Programme (TfP) Programme conducted a three day Conflict Management for Peacekeepers and Peacebuilders Course for the African Union / United Nations Hybrid Operation in Darfur (UNAMID) from 26 – 28 April 2010 in Kampala, Uganda.
The course focused on conflict management skills, in the form of facilitation, negotiation and mediation, to assist mission personnel improve their working relationships with relevant stakeholders within the Mission, and with host communities at the local and national levels. The course highlighted the relevance of communication as a means to resolve conflict and further contributed to increased skills and capacity of UNAMID staff to effectively intervene in conflict situations.
