The Founder and Executive Director of ACCORD, Vasu Gounden, was a resource person at an International Trade Negotiation training which ACCORD conducted in partnership with the International Senior Lawyers Programme (ISLP) in Zambia from 23-24 April 2008.
This is the third such training conducted as part of this partnership, with the previous two being conducted in Botswana and Rwanda. Delegates attending the training were drawn from the National Working Group on Trade (which develops trade policy and negotiation strategy and who provides recommendations to the Commerce Ministry on negotiations), officials from the relevant Ministries of Foreign Trade, Commerce, Trade and Industry as well as representatives from the private sector (industry, agriculture and civil society).
