ACCORD conducts CPPC course for civilian component of SADC Standby Force

The Training for Peace (TfP) Programme at ACCORD in collaboration with the Southern Africa Development Community Regional Peacekeeping Training Centre (SADC-RPTC), conducted a four (4) day Civilian Peacekeeping and Peacebuilding Course for the Southern Africa Development Community Brigade (SADCBRIG) from 15 – 18 April 2009 in Maputo, Mozambique.

The course was conducted as part of the preparations ahead of a SADCBRIG Command Post Exercise (CPX) scheduled for 20 – 24 April 2009 to train and prepare the civilian component of the SADCBRIG for their role in the CPX. In the overall, the course contributes towards the development of a trained civilian capacity for SADC Standby Force, ultimately leading to a continental level exercises to test the level of preparedness of the ASF.
