Through decades of service, Salim Ahmed Salim, former prime minister of Tanzania, former secretary-general of the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), peace negotiator and former member of the African Union’s Panel of the Wise, exemplifies the best in ethical and visionary African leadership.
The Institute for Security Studies (ISS) in collaboration with the African Union, ACCORD, Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue, and the Mwalimu Nyerere Foundation, invite you to a celebration of the life and leadership of an African statesman.
AU Commission Chairperson Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma will chair the event, which features a keynote address by Salim Ahmed Salim on his vision for Africa.
Dignitaries and close associates will provide reflections on his career highlights. The celebration includes lunch and a photo exhibition of Salim’s extraordinary life.
