The 13th Annual Conference and Annual General Meeting of the International Association of Peacekeeping Training Centers (IAPTC) will be held from 24-28 September in Stockholm, Sweden. The IAPTC is a unique forum for exchanging information and experience on peace operations education and training.
The association was founded with the aim of facilitating communication and information exchange between peacekeeping centres and among organisations and people responsible for, and interested in, peacekeeping education and training.
This year’s conference will be hosted by the Folke Bernadotte Academy in cooperation with the Swedish Armed Forces International Centre (SWEDINT), the Swedish National Defence College, and the Swedish National Police Board. The theme of this year’s meeting will be Framing Training: Doctrine and Guidelines for Peace Operations.
ACCORD will be represented at the Conference by the Training for Peace (TfP) Senior Programme Officer, Yvonne Kasumba, who also serves as the Chairperson for the Civilian Sub-Commitee of the IAPTC; and the TfP Programme Advisor, Cedric de Coning who will be a discussant on the the conference special issue, “Enhancing Cooperation and Coordination on Education and Training for Peace Operations – Possible Issues and Methods”.
