TfP /ACCORD participated in a seminar entitled Mediating Peace in Africa: Securing Conflict Prevention hosted by the African Peacebuilding Coordination Programme (APCP) at ACCORD and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on 4 March 2009.
The seminar focused on strengthening the mediation and conflict prevention aspects of the African Peace and Security Architecture (APSA), and brought together mediation and mediation support experts from across the African continent to review the role of mediation within the peace and security architecture of the African Union (AU), and to explore mediation support challenges and opportunities in Africa.
