The African Peacebuilding Coordination Programme at ACCORD hosted a Consultative Workshop in Kampala, Uganda, bringing together stakeholders to the peacebuilding process in Sudan from 20-21 November 2008.
The workshop, attended by representatives of the Government of Sudan, the United Nations Mission in Sudan (UNMIS), development partners and civil society, focused on assessing the peacebuilding process to date and on mapping out the way forward for the consolidation of peace in Sudan. The workshop was also utilised to review coherence and coordination among internal and external peacebuilding stakeholders, and support being provided to the implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement of 2005.
