Mahlet Hagos was an intern in ACCORD’s Programmes Unit, bringing with her a background in international development spanning over five years. Her experience includes roles at organizations such as GIZ and the British Embassy in Addis Ababa, where she collaborated with a diverse range of governmental and non-governmental entities.
Mahlet holds a Masters of Art in Project Management and Finance, which she earned from Jimma University in Addis Ababa. Currently, she is pursuing, with the support of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), a Joint Masters of Art in Global Studies with a Special Emphasis in Peace and Security in Africa from the University of Leipzig and the Institute of Peace and Security Studies (IPSS).
Mahlet believes in learning and development to broaden her horizons, leading her to actively participate in various training sessions and conferences. She recently earned a scholarship to attend the International Peace Training Core Course offered by the Austrian Center of Peace, in Stadtschlaining, Austria. This experience granted her invaluable insights into peacekeeping missions in conflict-affected areas.
Mahlet aims to become a skilled mediator, with aspirations to support institutions and governments in their pursuit of conflict resolution in Africa.
