Abhiyan Jung Rana is the Regional Education Adviser for Eastern and Southern Africa for UNICEF based in Nairobi, Kenya and is responsible for supporting UNICEF’s education programmes in the 21 countries in the region. Before joining the Eastern and Southern Regional Office he was based in New York Headquaters as Senior Adviser (Management) in the Education Section where he was responsible for management , planning and capacity building work of the section. Earlier in his career he served UNICEF in various capacities within the education and early childhood development sectors in Sri Lanka and Nepal. He has a Doctorate in Development Studies and a Masters in Management.
