ACCORD’s Training for Peace (TfP) Programme Senior Programme Officer, Yvonne Kasumba, will be attending the Executive Committee Meeting for the International Association of Peacekeeping Training Centers (IAPTC), from 12-14 March 2007. The meeting will be hosted by the Folke Bernadotte Academy in Stockholm, Sweden.
The core task for the meeting is to discuss preparation and planning for the 13th Annual Conference and Annual General Meeting for the IAPTC which will be held in Stockholm in October this year, with the theme “Framing Training: Doctrine and Guidelines for Peace Operations”. Ms. Kasumba will be attending the meeting in her capacity as the Chairperson for the Civilian Sub-Committee of the IAPTC. Whilst in Sweden, she will also meet with the Sida Peace and Security Unit as well as UPPSALA University’s Peace and Conflict Research Department.
