Ramesh Thakur is Emeritus Professor in the Crawford School of Public Policy, The Australian National University, Senior Research Fellow, the Toda Peace Institute, and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of International Affairs. A former United Nations Assistant Secretary-General, he has held fulltime academic appointments and for 15 years was a member of the International Advisory Board of the Training for Peace programme. His most recent book is Reviewing the Responsibility to Protect: Origins, Implementation and Controversies (Routledge, 2019).
