Senior Trainer and Advisor to ACCORD, Mr Cedric de Coning. has published two new research papers exploring different aspects of peace operations. In the online journal, Global Governance, Cedric focuses on the role of the special representative of the Secretary-General (SRSG) in the context of UN integrated missions. This special edition of Global Governance focuses on mediation in post-conflict peace operations and we encourage everyone to read this edition of the journal.
The second paper, published in World Politics Review, draws on Cedric’s experience in Peacekeeping with the United Nations Department of Peacekeeping Operations in the Training and Evaluation Service in 2002. The paper looks at Civil Military Relations and U. N. Peacekeeping Operations. It is an informative, interesting read for those in the field.
Cedric holds an MA (Cum Laude) from the University of Kwa Zulu Natal and is a Ph. d. Candidate at the University of Stellenbosch. He is currently working on the civilian dimension of the African Standby Force (ASF) and, civil military and peace building coordination for ACCORD.
