Abu Sherif is the Senior Programme Officer in the Peacebuilding Unit. He joined ACCORD in May 2012. He mainly works on the Training, Policy Development and Research components of the Unit. Abu's area of interests and expertise are Security Sector Reform (SSR) and Disarmament, Demobilization, Rehabilitation and Reintegration (DDRR) as well as contributing to other Peacebuilding initiatives.
Prior to joining ACCORD, Abu who has seven years professional experience, worked for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Liberia, the Liberia National Commission on Disarmament, Demobilization, Rehabilitation and Reintegration (NCDDRR) and the Liberia Institute for Statistics and Geo-Information Services (LISGIS).In 2009 he also served six months internship with ACCORD Peacebuilding Unit .
Abu speaks, reads and writes fluently in French and English and is a MA candidate at the Kofi Annan Institute for Conflict Transformation (KAICT) at the University of Liberia. He obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree with Honors ,from Fourah Bay College at the University of Sierra Leone in 2004.
