Salomé was a Senior Researcher in the Knowledge Production Department at ACCORD. She assumed this position in February 2011. In her role as Senior Researcher, Salome identified and implemented practice-oriented research for ACCORD’s intervention programmes. In addition, Salomé provided technical expertise to strengthen ACCORD’s external knowledge management. Her research areas included African natural resource conflicts and development, with a particular focus on human security, climate change, land and pastoral conflict, communal conflict, hydro-conflicts and climate change adaptation policy as it relates to conflict prevention. She has published scholarly work on elections in South Africa, on mediation in the African Union and on environmental conflict.
