ACCORD hosts inaugural EXCOM meeting

On 8 May ACCORD hosted its inaugural trustees’ EXCOM Meeting at ACCORD House. At the ACCORD Board of Trustees Meeting held on 30 November 2006, the Board approved the creation of the EXCOM, which will meet twice a year.

The Committee will comprise of three Trustees, ACCORD’s Executive Director and the General Manager: Finance. The current members of EXCOM consist of trustees H.E. Ambassador Sibusiso Bengu (Chair of ACCORD’s Board of Trustees), Professor Wiseman Nkuhlu, and, Mr Josias de Kock, in addition to Mr. Vasu Gounden (Executive Director) and Ms Sunitha Singh (General Manager: Finance) from the ACCORD staff. Mr. Hayden Allen (ACCORD General Manager: Corporate Affairs) is the EXCOM Secretary. Professor Nkuhlu chaired the meeting.

Mr. de Kock (who is a Chief Risk Officer at Sanlam), along with H.E. Ambassador Billy Modise (who was the Master of Ceremonies at ACCORD’s 2006 Africa Peace Award, and is the former SA High Commissioner to Canada and the former Deputy Director General, Chief of State Protocol in the Department of Foreign Affairs) joined ACCORD’s Board of Trustees earlier this year.
