ACCORD conducts training for SADC RPTC

ACCORD’s Training for Peace (TfP) Programme will provide training support to the Peace Support Operations (PSO) Course coordinated by the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Regional Peace Training Centre (RPTC). The course is scheduled from 13-24 November 2006 at the SADC RPTC in Harare, Zimbabwe.

Mr Kwezi Mngqibisa will represent the TfP Programme, and he will conduct the ‘Conflict Management for Peacekeepers’ Module from 20-21 November.

The aim of the PSO course is to train military, police and civilian personnel from Southern African to perform their duties in peace support missions under the auspices of SADC-, African Union- and United Nations-mandated missions. ACCORD’s Peace and Security Unit consider this training a form of ongoing support to the SADC RPTC and a sharing of expert resources.
