ACCORD Burundi to review peacebuilding progress

on . Posted in Burundi Intervention

The ACCORD Burundi Intervention is bringing together peacebuilding agents at the end of August to assess and monitor progress in the project titled “Post-Conflict Peacebuilding in Burundi: Promoting Peace, Reconciliation and effective Governance.”

Over the past 4 years, ACCORD has conducted many capacity-building, conflict management and dialogue activities aimed at building durable peace and reconciliation in Burundi. The beneficiaries of these activities will be given a platform to share their experiences at a Lessons Learned Seminar in Bujumbura from 30 August to 1 September. The Seminar will reflect on ACCORD’s peacebuilding work in Burundi from 2007 up to June 2010 and will assist stakeholders to strengthen peacebuilding gains in the country.

ACCORD’s Deputy Director, Jerome Sachane, will facilitate the Seminar with assistance from ACCORD’s Peacebuilding Unit Coordinator, Warigia Razia and the Burundi Intervention’s Acting Coordinator, Adelin Hatungimana.
